In the shade of the 'Rocca', near Monselice on the lower Paduan plain, lies San Cosma, a small village known as 'stortola'. It acquired this name because of the many bends on the main road which, according to historians, was probably built on the dry bed of a stream that issued from the nearby Euganei Hills.
The vineyards and the winery of the Antico Podere estate lie alongside this road, to the south of the hills, in the Bagnoli D.O.C. wine area.
The land is fertile, with a vine-growing and wine-making tradition carried on by many generations of the Bertazzo family, who still take care of the vineyards and the winery today.
